For our Luxembourg office, we are looking for an Associate Lawyer with 4 to 5 years of experience to strengthen our Litigation practice.
Our Luxembourg office comprises approximately 50 professionals. We foster a collaborative and approachable culture that is both informal and dynamic, where individuals are hardworking yet personable, creating an environment in which colleagues connect easily and work closely together.
As an Associate, you will be involved in the management of matters from inception to completion, working in close collaboration with Partners and maintaining direct contact with clients. You will contribute to complex and often cross-border cases across a broad range of contentious areas, including civil and commercial litigation, corporate disputes, banking and finance litigation, investment fund litigation, as well as administrative and tax proceedings.
Our ideal candidate has:
a Master’s degree in Law from a European University and can show excellent academic records;
Achieved the Bar (‘Avoué’) in Luxembourg or an European Country (list IV) ;
4 to 5 years' experience in Litigation within an international or national law firm based in Luxembourg;
strong communication skills, adaptation skills, and problem-solving abilities;
is a team player, works efficiently with an entrepreneurial and commercial approach; and
ability to work in English and French
Job requirements
Responsibilities:
Managing Dispute Files End-to-End
Handle contentious matters from inception to resolution under the supervision of partners, including case strategy, drafting of submissions, evidence gathering, negotiations, and court representation. Coordinate with clients and external parties to ensure timely and effective case progression.Providing Strategic Litigation Advice
Advise clients on contentious matters across civil, commercial, and financial disputes. Assess legal risks, develop litigation strategies, and provide pragmatic, business-oriented solutions aligned with clients’ objectives, including settlement and enforcement strategies.Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents
Prepare and review all forms of procedural and substantive legal documentation, including writs, pleadings, briefs, motions, settlement agreements, and legal opinions. Ensure compliance with Luxembourg procedural rules and applicable EU regulations.Court Representation and Dispute Resolution
Represent clients before Luxembourg courts and tribunals, as well as in arbitration proceedings where applicable. Participate in hearings, trials, and mediations, advocating effectively on behalf of clients.Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
Work closely with colleagues across practice areas such as corporate, banking & finance, and tax to provide coordinated advice in complex, multi-faceted disputes.Client Relationship Management
Act as a trusted advisor to a diverse client base. Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their commercial priorities and delivering tailored, solution-oriented legal advice.Regulatory and Legal Monitoring
Stay up to date with developments in Luxembourg and EU litigation, insolvency, and enforcement laws, ensuring advice reflects the latest regulatory and judicial trends.
