AKD is a leading Benelux law firm, with over 550 attorneys, tax consultants and business support spread across six offices in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
AKD's People Team plays a key part in recruiting, developing and retaining our driven and ambitious professionals. Our ambition is to grow our presence in Belgium and Luxembourg. To achieve this growth, we are looking to expand the People Team in both regions, creating the new role of HR Adviser Luxembourg.
As HR Adviser for Luxembourg, you will be part of the People Team and work together with 20 HR professionals, each with their own expertise. You will report to the Head of People. You will carry out your work from our Luxembourg office. You are the first point of contact on all HR-related matters for our Luxembourg colleagues, whether employees, independent service providers or managers.
We are looking for someone who can stand his/her ground and has an entrepreneurial spirit, who is willing to implement and develop AKD’s HR strategy into Luxembourg, and who has profound knowledge of Luxembourg employment law, but also is familiar with the job market in Luxembourg.
As AKD's HR Adviser (LUX), you are responsible for current HR processes, such as the performance management cycle, the personal and professional development of employees, self-employed professionals and managers, absenteeism management, employment and service contracts, recruitment and advising both employees, self-employed professionals and managers on HR issues.
Although a Dutch HR framework is available, you are in charge of transposing these into processes for operational use in our Luxembourg office taking into account local market specificities. Your role is key in this transposition. In addition, you are responsible for implementing these processes, for involving colleagues in and mustering their support for raising the bar of professional HR standards in Luxembourg. As the first point of contact for all colleagues, you have a pivotal part in building relationships of trust and acting as a sounding board.
Job requirements
To excel in this role, you need
to have an entrepreneurial and proactive spirit - you understand your colleagues' needs when it comes to HR advice and act accordingly to be seen as a reliable and trustworthy person to talk with
to have worked as an HR professional for at least four years, preferably at a provider of professional or legal services in Luxembourg
to be acquainted with Luxembourg social legislation, with the various (open-ended and fixed term) contracts, and be familiar with the local job market
to serve as an adviser regarding benefits, contracts and (legal) agreements with employees
to be able to work independently
to have a hands-on and pragmatic mindset
to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
to have fluently English and French languages skills (verbal and written) at business level.
